The dust has settled, and now we’re reminiscing about last weekend’s fun at Dunorlan Park for Pub in the Park 2022. As great of a time as we had, it’s safe to say we worked our socks off for three days straight serving up Po’ Boys, Billy the Squid, Oysters Three Ways, and our Vegan Ceviche for the party-going people of Tunbridge Wells. To be honest the whole thing seems like a bit of a blur, but we’ve managed to piece things together for a brief snapshot of how this festival of food went down:
Friday – Despite there just being an evening session, we were still starting bright and early to set up shop and prepare our delicious dishes before everyone’s arrival at half 5. After a long week, the punters were certainly up for it working their way through our menu, all before murdering on the dancefloor with Sophie Ellis Bextor, and cutting shapes to the Faithless DJ set.
Saturday – The big one. Two sessions, and a whole heap of plates flying off the pass. That was no issue for our rag tag team in the kitchen though, as they absolutely smashed it from morning to sunset. They do say work hard, play hard, and we definitely did that with Professor Green and Supergrass sending us on our way to a cheeky after party at our very own Seafood Kitchen & Bar up on Mount Ephraim.
Sunday – There’s no amount of partying that could stop us from making it back to Dunorlan Park, and we were given a helping hand with the last day being coined “Lazy Sunday”! We did manage to sneak out from the kitchen on occasion to support The Paul Dunton Orchestra, who as you’ll know curates the cracking line-up of artists performing at the Old Fishmarket every Thursday.
Of course we’d like to thank each and every one of you that bought tickets to this awesome event (and frequented the Sankey’s stall), but a big shout-out is due to a few others as well. Starting off there’s the main man himself Tom Kerridge and the brand events crew - without who none of this would be possible. Then there’s all the other restaurants who were cooking up a storm alongside us; The Small Holding, The Dog at Wingham, Hoppers, The Kentish Hare, The Cadogan Arms, The Hand & Flowers, Cue Point, and Atul Kochhar’s team all deserve a pat on the back. And a few days off most likely.
Last but certainly not least, there’s the Sankey’s squad who made the magic happen. On one hand you’ve got the legends who volunteered to give up their time and be honorary members of our team for the weekend, and on the other our superstar staff members who showed them the ropes and led the way from start to finish. We’re incredibly proud to have had you guys represent us, and we already can’t wait to come back even bigger next year…
