A week has passed and it’s time to reflect on the whirlwind that was Pub in the Park 2021...
Despite football not coming home and the British weather treating us to a full display of its weird and wonderful ways, there was still plenty to cheer about this year in Dunorlan Park - so we think a few thank yous are in order...
Firstly we want to give a big shoutout to our fellow chefs and restaurant teams for providing a healthy level of competition and banter that we wouldn’t have got through the weekend without. At the end of the day we all brought our own unique charms and specialities to the table, but if Atul Kochhar asks we do indeed have photo evidence that our queues were consistently longer than his.
Next in line we want to acknowledge the fact that this event would have been nothing if not for Tom Kerridge and the brand events crew who managed to put on such an awesome three-day festival of food and great music. We often get applauded for how great our dishes are, but being told that we’re beautiful by James Blunt and then to have Craig David ask us to go for a drink with him next Tuesday has certainly set the standard for praise going forward.
Last, but by no means least, all of us here at Sankey’s would like to say a big thank you to you, the punters. Whether you were making friends with Billy the Squid or re-acquainting yourself with our iconic Po’Boy, it was incredible to not only see so many people enjoying our dishes, but more importantly themselves after what’s been such a difficult 18 months for us all.
PitP in Numbers:
- Just under 3000 dishes sold

We’ve got plenty more events down in the diary for this summer too, so keep your eyes peeled for them and in the meantime catch us at The Old Fishmarket or Mount Ephraim...
