Naturally we think our Champagne and Oyster Bar at the Old Fishmarket is the most important reason anyone will have for heading to The Pantiles, but we have to say at this time of year there are certainly a few extra reasons as to why we love calling this destination one of our homes. It doesn’t take much to be impressed by the Georgian parade that’s synonymous with Royal Tunbridge Wells’ image, but with the addition of Autumn leaves and cool air, there’s something extra special about these surroundings too.

Recently we saw several of our neighbours unveil their festive shopfront displays, making the shopping experience in the heart of town even more charming regardless of whether you’re treating yourself to something, or discovering the perfect gift for the nearest and dearest. Speaking of which, things get even better on the weekends when we welcome countless local traders for the Christmas markets, guaranteeing an array of wonderful crafts, sweet treats, and a cracking atmosphere throughout Saturdays and Sundays.

Despite being coined ‘the most wonderful time of year’ however, we know it can be tiring work making your way through the crowds and finding that ideal present that’s bound to leave a smile on someone’s face - so why not take time for yourself by paying Sankey’s a visit next time you’re here? Refresh the palate with an exquisite glass of sparkling wine, then tuck into something delicious that’s prepared in front of your very own eyes. The markets are around from 10am-4pm both days too, meaning you have the choice to work up an appetite either prior to lunch or a show stopping dinner.
