Although we’re right in the middle of British Food Fortnight, that doesn’t mean we can’t look ahead to another special two weeks that are just around the corner– the Kent Green Hop Beer Fortnight.
In fact we’ve been getting into the swing of things for awhile over at the Seafood Kitchen & Bar, as we’ve been growing our very own colourful cones out in the beer garden. It’s safe to say we’re not exactly experts like those working on the centuries old farms here in Kent, but we’ve learned a few things along the way such as remembering to use the term bine ,not vine, and that they actually love the climate we have here in the Garden of England.
It’s all very good knowing these things, but now we’ve harvested them, what are we going to do with all these hops?
The answer’s obvious of course, create a deliciously refreshing beer!
We’re teaming up with the talented guys over at Only With Love to produce a one of a kind brew that’ll be perfect to wash down all the mouth-watering bites to be had at Sankey’s.
Making use of both US and UK hops, it’s only right that we honour the transatlantic connection by naming our upcoming pale ale the Lindy Hop - inspired by both the dance and the first pilot to make the cross-continent flight back in 1927, Charles Lindeburgh.
We reckon this one will really fly, and totally be worth jetting off to Mount Ephraim for a sweet sip of its unforgettable flavours.
Brewing starts next week, and we can’t wait to show off (and serve) the end result. Just keep checking our social channels for the big reveal…
